Matti Suokko

Matti Suokko is the Honorary Consul of Finland for the states of Washington, Montana, and Idaho, a position he has held since 2000, appointed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland. In this role, Mr. Suokko serves as Finland’s official representative across these states, fostering bilateral relations and advancing Finland’s interests in the region.
A native of Finland, Mr. Suokko relocated to the United States in 1993 to join Microsoft Corporation. During his 21-year tenure at Microsoft, he held leadership roles in product management, marketing, and business development. Notably, he led the multi-year integration of the $1.2 billion acquisition of Fast Search & Transfer, a company previously headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
In addition to his career at Microsoft, which concluded in 2023, Mr. Suokko founded Inventio LLC, a consulting firm specializing in North American market access and innovation services. Over the years, he has successfully guided numerous Finnish and international companies in entering and thriving in the North American market.
Currently, Mr. Suokko serves as Vice President at Icertis, a Seattle-headquartered software and services company. He plays a pivotal role in revolutionizing contract lifecycle management, empowering enterprises worldwide to optimize their contractual processes through AI-powered Contract Intelligence.
Mr. Suokko studied in the Master of Science program in computer engineering at Tampere University of Technology in Finland.
In recognition of his distinguished service, the President of Finland awarded Mr. Suokko the Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
