Mark Schleck

Honorary Danish Consul

Mark was appointed as Honorary Danish Consul on December 18, 2017, upon the recommendation of the then serving Danish Ambassador to the United States, Lars Lose. In his capacity as Honorary Danish Consul he also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Nordic Museum.

From 2004 though his retirement in June of 2020 he served as the President and Board Member of the Scan Design by Inger & Jens Bruun Foundation. The Foundation had as its main mission to “Foster Danish-American Relations”, and as its initial President he both established strong connections between the two countries and managed the growth and direction of the Foundation, its investments, grants and strategic plan.

From 1977 through 1982, Mark was employed by Touche Ross & Co in its tax department. Beginning in 1982 and continuing through 2020, Mark was an attorney in private practice in Washington State with the Law Offices of Mark T. Schleck, where he focused his practice in the areas of commercial law, tax law and estate planning.

He earned a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1976, and a Juris Doctor (cum laude) degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law) in 1979.
